Skynet’s choice to launch its own chain on Arbitrum unlocks several strategic advantages. Arbitrum is widely recognized for its ability to scale effectively and minimize transaction costs, which makes it a perfect fit for managing AI agents and their real-time operations. By utilizing Arbitrum’s Layer 2 scaling technology, Skynet can ensure that smart contracts and other blockchain tasks are processed quickly and efficiently—essential for handling the high volume of AI-driven activities.
Additionally, Skynet will be deploying its own Orbit chain within the Arbitrum ecosystem, further enhancing its ability to tailor specific blockchain operations to meet its unique needs and ensure congestion can be controlled as Skynet operations scale.
Imagine Orbit chains as mini custom highways built on top of a super-efficient road system (Arbitrum). Each mini highway can be tailored to specific types of traffic (specific apps or use cases) while still benefiting from the strength and efficiency of the main system.
This flexibility means developers can develop faster, cheaper, and more specialized blockchain solutions without needing to start from scratch while still maintaining security and communication with the broader blockchain network.
The timeline for Skynet’s blockchain Mainnet launch is shaping up, with the launch of the private Testnet in September 2024 as the next major milestone. Following the Testnet phase, Skynet anticipates moving to the Alpha version of the mainnet in November 2024 in line with the requirements of ecosystem project launches.
During the private Testnet, the focus will be on stress-testing the chain’s ability to support large-scale AI-agent interactions, ensuring that the architecture can handle high throughput and maintain security.
Functionality and performance tests will also take place for a number of ecosystem projects, including Metakraft, Armur, StackOS, 0xSingularity, neural.network and StackAI.
Stay tuned for updates as Skynet continues to pioneer the future of AI-driven blockchain technology.
